Has anyone seen any information on what frequency the transducer in the new 360 imaging unit is operating at? I am trying to get a handle on what the resolution and maximum imaging distances will be in freshwater.
-
diver, Just spoke with HB CS! They know nothing about spec on the 360 units yet.

Until the product has started shipping you will not see any specs on it. This is pretty standard for us as some specifications could change at the last minute.
-
It is supposed to work with the 798, which only supports 455 kHz.
-
Can anyone speculate whether normal side imaging views will be available along with 360 views in the view rotation?

It is my understanding that the 360 will give a cheap sector scan to fishfinding..
the normal transducer for si will be used in concert.
Possibly some menu selection like 2d or si or downingaing..
But again we will need to see this in operation.
As Greg said before specs are help until release as production could change prior to release..

thanks

Dale, if you get one of these let us know what all you find out..

WILL DO

I have been bugging hummingbird about the 360 and keep getting the same reply " I KNOW NOTHING! "
Roddy

I would think that since the 360 is an accessory transducer,
the units will have the same views as always,
with the added 360 views.
I don't think it's intended to replace the normal
transducer.
-
GEEK, As I understand it the SI xducer is required in order the system to have a depth reading displaed.
360 transducer will require a SI transducer to have a depth readout.
Sounds like someone forget something about system efficiency !
I can see the post now " I just spent $ 2000.00 USon a new 360 and it does not display depths ".

Well,
Like I said, it is an added accessory.
It will work off the main system, the main system won't work off of it.
I'm not surprised that it requires a piece of the main system to get the
depth.
You're right Roddy.
People will buy it and think that it's a complete system and complain
about it.
I saw a review on Amazon where someone bought the XM AS1 Weather
module, then was pissed off that they had to get a monthly service
plan from Sirius. Best to research before you buy.
-
Info I have says you just need 200k source to get depth, so you do not really need normal SI TD.
I read that XM review on amazon just today when I ordered my XM weather receiver (199.99), I just laughed.
-
Talk about a laugh, the mounts run $56.00-$250.00USD :o now thats a CRY!! :'( :'(
The inatallation could run as high $500.00USD! :o :'( :-X
Hope I never forget to retract the transducer and GUN it WTFO to 90MPH !!$$$$$$$$$

ITG is correct: the 360 Imaging is an accessory. The same Views that are available now will be available if you get one of these plus the added Views from the 360 Imaging will be available. Just like adding radar or connecting boat motor gauges through the NMEA2K accessory.
-
Thanks Greg.
I'm a bit confused about views. Who creates them? Can a user create a combo view? if so, do u think u can create a combo view with the 360 and say downscan or sonar?
DALE
-
HB decides what views the user needs or wants. They put them into a menu that you will select from..
Chuck

The Views are predefined (the user cannot create them).
I do not know what Views will be available for the 360 Imaging accessory.
