Post by: fishinman on July 10, 2012, 07:16:15 PM
Can't get menu for this to come up.....have tried formatting new SD card etc.... But when I go to set a waypoints/record I get a message that says "writeable card" not installed.....snapshot set to visible also ....anything else I'm missing? Thought I followed manual instructions ....
Thanks

Make sure you format the card for fat32.
what size and type of card is this..?
Does the card seem to go into the slot ok and not pop out when the door closes.

Hi Fishinman,

- Is the write-protection tab on your SD-Card by accident set to the "Locked" position?
- Can you see the card and format it from your computer using Humminbird PC?
- ...

Make sure the card slot you're using is not set for map card only. Most map cards are set to read-only (locked). So, I would try the other slot or check/change the settings in regards to map slot.. .Also make sure the cards are not bumped while closing the card door.

A 1GB SD card should be formatted to the FAT16 setting.  FAT32 is for the larger capacity SDHC memory cards (2GB and up).

Did the 1GB SD card work in your camera?  Test it and see if it does, then format it (FAT16) and try it in your unit again.
