Title: Fish Id not working on HB 597c

I know this forum is for the bigger HBs  but has anyone had a problem with this unit as concerns the Fish ID not working?  I was in the boat and did everything that the manual said to do.  The simplest thing to do is to reset the unit defaults and then turn on the Fish ID and it should be on also increased the Fish ID Sensitivity.  Not doing it.  Thanks if has had this same problem and for your wisdom.  I just bought this unit.

Sounds to me like you have set everything correctly.
What Beam Select menu setting are you using?
What SwitchFire menu setting are you using?
What water depth is this in?
Can you make a screen snapshot of the unit showing fish but no Fish ID symbols?

Hit "Menu" twice to get into the Main Menu System...

Cursor over to the "Sonar" tab...

Cursor down to "FishID"...

Cursor right to bring up "Off - On"...

Cursor down to highlight "Off  - On"...

Cursor to "On"....

The fish ID on my 597 ci HD DI unit was turned OFF when I received it new in unopened box last week.  As stated, it can be turned on in Sonar menu.

Reading the original post again; he states that he turned Fish ID on as well as turned up the Fish ID Sensitivity.  Is it showing the Fish ID Symbols now?
