Just trying to find some info on the 360 imaging..... I just bought an 898 and thought that i would have the 360 imaging but I guess there is an extra transducer you need to get the 360 to work?
-
It's not just a transducer...
It's an entire $2000 addon accessory utilized thru Ethernet...

Good Lord!!!! thats almost double what I paid for the 898!!! holy....
-
I see its not available til august which would make sense that there is no info on it yet. But 2000!!!???? What the hell?? These units are expensive enough alone....
-
Those first two words you used is about normal for any 360 post I've seen...Good Lord...!!
The bass boy's sponsors will have no problem paying that...
Kinda makes it obvious what market HB targets...IMO...

Im totally speachless.... I would never thought that an accessory would be worth more than the unit. Thats like buyin a new truck for 40,000 and then having the dealer want an extra 50,000 for a lift, tires and rims..... Im actually kind of pissed to hear this.... I dont get it.... I would assume that all of us average fisherman will never ever see this 360 technology in our boats, what a shame.... Shame on you humminbird.

Corporate decisions are made with the company bottom line at the focus...
Pro tournament fishing is nearly as big as Nascar nowdays...
I'll repeat my opinion...
The bass boy's sponsors will have no problem paying that...
Kinda obvious who HB's target market is....
(We are just along for the ride....IF you can afford it)...

My gf's uncle is good friends with a pro basser.... wonder if he is runnin humminbirds and can hook a guy up somehow someway.... I can afford one but dont think I would buy one out of spite of the costs...
-
I'm sure the deployment system is a significant portion of the $2K cost...
It will be interesting to find out if the 360 xducer can be utilized separate from the deployment system...and "if" HB would even offer the 360 xducer without the deployment system...
This would open the opportunity for a lot of "average fishermen" into the 360 technology...

The heck with the deployment system, I settle for the xducer and a broom stick!!!!!
Wow $2000.00 and not even gold plated with your name on it.
What happond to a pond a shade tree a cane pole and cloud watching? 8)

Just type in on a search engine...the 360 Humminbird and you will see how it works. Yes....it is VERY expensive and I have yet to hear any of the Elite Series Pros walk on stage and say how well it helped them catch fish. I think this will be a very good addition but also think the price may be just a bit to high. The prob thought that goes up and down is a must to be able to see all around your boat.
-
Guys, this is more than just another transducer. It is a complete sonar system minus the display. It is a rather complicated product and yes the deployment system added to the cost along with all of the other features.
Just my opinion:
Not everyone can afford the $1,000 to $3,000 dollar Si units either, nor do all see them as necessary for their fishing. The same goes with the 360 Imaging accessory. I take it that no one has priced the Radar as they list for $1,500 and $2,200 but I have not heard anything about them. Why? Because not everyone wants or thinks they need them.

I don't usually target Bass, but I have realized that
without Pro Bass fishing, we would not have SI or DI.
Those tournament guys want every edge possible, and the sonar companys
will try and keep improving technology because the demand is
there. We all benefit from this.
It is however, extremely expensive to try and keep up with this
stuff. I say keep improving things, no matter what they cost.
The price will eventually come down.
