Ive got a 997c that ive had for 2 yrs and I just received a new 998c. All software is up to date. I also purchased the AS interlink module and plan on sharing all info.
Questions:
Do I need to install the GPS antenna for the new unit?
What are the pros and cons?
-
I just plugged the existing transducer, power, and GPS connectors from my existing 997 into my 998.
Everything works fine. I use the 997 as a backup. The head units are interchangeable.

What I meant, is that I am going to be using both units; one at the bow and one at the console, and will be using Interlink to share data. Can I make this work with only one antenna or do I have to use both?

Yes, tell the unit with the antenna to share it on the network ..or you can plug the GPS puck directly into the interlink.
