Title: New 998, old 798C SI, and Interlink?
Post by: jimmybass2 on May 23, 2012, 06:59:52 PM
Simple question.  I want to move my 798C SI to the bow and add a new 998.  Will my Interlink work with the new 998 (instead of Ethernet) and what software updates should I run or not worry about?

Thanks in Advance,
JimmyBass

try to use the same version software on both units. If both are ethernet capable, why not use it? You can share sonars via ethernet plus everything else interlink can do.

LocDown, thanks for the reply.  The 798C SI is NOT the HD version, so no Ethernet on that one.  I'm going to use the InterLink for now, assuming that its not an issue.

There's no guarantee that it will work correctly. You should update the 998 to the latest software. Hook up the interlink to the 998 and power up. Let the interlink update and then hook up the 798 and hope for the best.
