Hello
I am new to the Forum and will be purchasing an 1198c SI next week. I have been looking at threads for a month now and appreciate all the experience that is shared on this forum. I will probably purchase through GPS Central in Calgary (I am in Canada) and on their 1198c SI site, they have the following statement:
"*To obtain 8000 watts PTP requires the use of the optional 1KW (8000watt) transducer."
http://www.gpscentral.ca/products/humminbird/1198csicombo.html (http://www.gpscentral.ca/products/humminbird/1198csicombo.html)
I haven't seen any other reference to such a transducer, including the Humminbird site or the Forums. Does anyone have knowledge of this?

You can have a 1000W transducer from Humminbird here:
http://store.humminbird.com/products/313953/XTH_9_DB_35_KW_T (http://store.humminbird.com/products/313953/XTH_9_DB_35_KW_T)
BUT it's only a standard transducer, not a SI transducer.
It is normally used in 1,000ft+ depth.
