Heya guys! New here! Love the forum and all the great pics.. Already contemplating a tow fish heh. Couple questions about this new to me Humminbird. What do you think about these shots? Tons of garbage there in those two shots. Any opinions on these? Thank you!

In the second image, where you are west of the launch and north of the bridge, you might want to lower the sensitivity some.
The red and yellow marks from 8' to 12' are probably fish hidden in the noise.
In the third image, I would guess another sonar was running nearby.

How "sensitive" is the sensitivity? may have adjusted it one or two points, but I know I didn't make any radical adjustments. You think just a little extra would do that? I seem to remember the "DI enhance" setting only making all those marks a little less evident, although still there. That was my first thought, the sensitivity.. It didn't remove all those marks though. That lake is 60 feet at its deepest. I'm usually in 40 or less. I'm headed out friday or saturday and I'll play with it some more. Thanks for the reply.

That's one of the best ways to learn the unit--- spend time on the the water and push buttons and see what happens.
If it gets messed up to bad, remember 'reset defaults'.. LOL I did that a lot when I was new. And I do mean A LOT!
Good luck and have fun.

the 3rd image looks more like a speed issue. 18 mph is a bit fast for SI..

So you guys think all that garbage is a sensitivity issue? I know it wasn't cranked all the way or anything. Hmm. Thanks for the replies.

I don't know if you have your switchfire set to max or clear.
Max will show everything in the water (plankton, thermoclines).
Clear will show you mainly fish.
The picture with 18mph could even be some interference from
your main motor.
Some of the units are pretty powerful.
My unit only needs a 2-d sensitivity set to 1.

The junk looks like it could be biological or even a thermocline but not sure any lakes are set up for that yet. Does it go away or get lower as the day goes on? Check your switchfire setting and sensitivity as previously mentioned.
