Title: New 898c SI 83KHz doesn`t seem to work

  :) Just new to this site and am wondering if someone can HELP!. After having 3 Lowerance sounders crack up with the same problem I bought myself a HB.898C SI and after setting it up cannot get a reading on the 83KHz screen. ( Even in simulation mode) Any help would be appreciated. By the way this is an excellent site, and am looking forward to being a regular visitor.

I would call Humminbird Cust. Service.  Then maybe try your dealer.  Check owners manuel also.

The 83 kHz signal data is not present in the simulator files...
So it's normal that is blank in the simulator.

Dito, nothing in simulator mode as far as 83khz (Blank screen).  You need to be out on the water.
