Ok...As I have read many of you with interference issues with side image...here is mine.
I have a 1198 mounted on my console. I have a 787c2i mounted up front. My 1198 unit is powered by my starting battery. Each time I activate my trolling motor power, I have interference on my scren of the 1198 back on the console. What can I do to get rid of this ? My Trolling motor power runs up the other side of my boat. Could someone give me some ideas to try ?

Calli, are the two units interconnected..?

No...and they run to separate batteries.

Calli1, is there any electrical connection between or common to the trolling motor and the 1198.
What battery does the trolling motor run from?
Do the two units (sonar) share any transducer or other item?

Calli1, If you are using both units at the same time, the units are receiving the other units transmitted signal and processing that signal along with its own signal, makes a mess of the screen.
Try using one unit at a time observe the screen then start the second unit and observe the screen, if it is messed up time to upgrade to Hummingbird ENET.

Callie1, if the 1198 has the problem and the 787 doesnt. Then it is probably the one unit over the other is the sensivity to spurious interference.
In this case it looks like RF over electrical. Possibly the 1198 just is too sensitive. Can you choke the trolling motor.
Is it possible to move the 1198 temporarily. This might not be easy but just checking..

Calli1,
My guess here is that you are using the standard DualBeam transducer on the 787c2i unit and therefore are not seeing the trolling motor interference on it because it is not using the same frequency as the Si sonar on your 1198c Si unit. You need to call the Humminbird Customer Resource folks and ask their suggestion on what to do to counter or get rid of the trolling motor interference you are seeing on this unit.
