Title: 798 shallow water settings
Post by: Fay on April 21, 2012, 04:27:43 PM
If anyone has any tips on "SI" shallow water settings I could sure use help.
My 798 unit in 10 to 12 foot of water seems to work fine.  In 4 to 5 foot I see nothing.
I have the SI set on 5o feet and I can ride close to crab pots and see nothing but
in 10 foot of water they will show up just fine.  Is 4 foot water too shallow for "SI"?
thanks in advance - Fay

You should set side imaging 3-4x depth. Example 4 feet depth, set side imaging width to 12 -16 feet across.

Thanks revilo304, I'll give 16' a try.  Sure not what I had hoped for.   Where I fish I can almost
see 16' from the boat.  :)  Fay
