Title: 917C Question
Post by: BassinBill on April 18, 2012, 08:54:16 AM
I have a 917c mounted in the bow of my Ranger bassboat.  The transducer is enclosed in the bottom of the MK 101 trolling motor.  About a month ago I turned on the unit and a verticle black line about 3/4" thick appeared on the screen.  About a week later a second verticle black line just to the left of the first appeared and the next week a thrid black line appeared just to the left of the second.  I now have three verticle black lines, each about 3/4" thick.  I ran a diagonostics check and everything came-up OK.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
BassinBill

Does the unit display correctly when run in the Simulator mode (will have to plug in only the power cable for this)?

Are you able to display any menus or is the unit just not showing the bottom reading?

Do you have a second Humminbird unit or know of someone who has one that would allow you to connect up the power and transducer to test your 917c unit on it?  Most any model of Humminbird unit will work for this.

I will give your suggestions a try and see what happens.  Thanks for the assistance.
