very creative and interesting.

The one picture seems to show the transducer can be lowered or raised. Possibly to get it out of the way in a very shallow water as in the bottom scrapes..

Good installation.  And the cost seems very very reasonable.  You have given some new thought for our yaks..

It is a very creative installation.  I hope that everyone understands just how the transducer is kept retracted Papa.  Do you have any drawings for this or can you take a few more pictures of how the extra piece gets installed/taken out to extend and retract the transducer?

Look carefully at the pictures and you can see the pvc layout and how it slips up and down (retract).

He might want to patent this before some steals the idea..

Very good for yak/canoes.. Might work in flat bottom boats as well..

I was not sure that everyone would pick up on that Chuck.  That is why I asked Papa to post more images about this.  You know: the whole thing about pictures being better than 1,000 words and all.  Many people learn better by seeing versus reading.

Kayak 798 CI SI scupper hole $2.00 mount 1 1/4 PVC.  Yes it lowers down and pulls up for landing and takeoff from shore.  It extends down just for enough for the side imaging to pass under my kayak.  Depending on what size scupper hole you have will depend on the size of the PVC pipe you use.  This is on a ocean kayak trident 13.  As for anyone who would like to use it, you're more then welcome to.  If any one makes money off of it just send me a couple of bucks.  Are donated it to the forum.

Really this is a well thought out install.  So well that we are considering a similar type of portable mount for our unit in SAR. There have been times we had to get real creative to make the modified trolling shaft and breacket work.

This has given me a new idea..

Thanks...
