Title: 798ci SI HD Update rate..
Post by: xSilmarilSx on April 04, 2012, 03:19:54 AM
I checked a little fast in the 798 PDF manual, since my unit is in the mail, and I can't remember from the countless hours of forum browsing, if the internal GPS antenna of the 798 HD have the 4x/second update rate, or it's just with the external antenna?

Someone can confirm this?

Thanks!

I believe that it is the same update rate as the external GPS Receivers.  I do not think that it is stated in the operations manual at all.

4 times a second is impressive.
The faster the rate, the more accurate the speed over the water would be.
Also, the quicker the directional arrow would begin to move.

Hey Greg,
Aren't most models only updating 1 times a second?

I don’t know ITG.
I know that some of our older GPS Receivers did and even some of the not so old ones before a software update to the units.
