Title: Clear mode in coloured water

Using my 798cxi SI yesterday in a lake about 20' deep that was a bit coloured up with suspended mud in water. Visibility about 2-3 feet.

Found that clear mode showed 0.2 feet depth while max mode worked normally

Why might that be ?

Sure that wasn’t the other way around John; that it read 0.2 feet deep when using the Max Mode menu setting for the SwitchFire menu?  This is more in line with what we normally hear (although usually in shallower water than that).

Try adjusting the Surface Clutter menu to a higher setting.
