Title: Navionics detail not loading

I recently purchased a Platinum S card to work with my HB 597 ci HD.  The first time out on the lake the map detail came up for a bit but then it went to the basic lake outline.  The second time out it didn't come up at all.  I read several posts and tried getting the map detail to come up while setting in the drive way at home.  Sure enough everything worked fine.  Yesterday took some friends out thinking we could get into some good fishing.  I turned on the locater, went to the map view and bingo the basic map again.  Checked everything but couldn't get the detail to come up.  Tried it again this morning in the driveway and the detail came up.  Has anyone else gone through this?  If so, please let me know what I am missing.

The 597ci HD units were not made to work with a Navionics Platinum mapping card.

I guess I missed something when I purchased the 597 and the hotmaps from navionics.  It works fine when I am on the trailer in the driveway and it worked for about a hour on the lake the first time out.  The store showed be on their unit how the card worked in the 597.  Now I am really confused.

It's a wonder you are seeing anything.
If you call NV they will tell you that the Platinum is not compatible with the 500/700 units.
I was going to do the Platinum for my 798 over a year ago just in case I upgraded to a 8/9/11 series at a later date and decided to call before I did and they put a halt on that so I bought the Premium....

I spoke with Kevin at Nav and he said the 3D data overloads the 597.  If I can find my receipt they will do a swap within 30-days of purchase.  This would be something the sales people should know but evidently he didn't.  Thanks again for your help at least the frustration is resolved.

Again, a good reasonto talk to more than one person.
Sales are not all knowledged in the products on the shelf.
And generally it is just the basics..

That is why this forum is so good.

You can ask questions well in advance of a purchase and then get what you need and wanted..

I wish I would have known about this site before I bought.  But all is well now (I hope) they exchanged the cards for me a Bass Pro.  Thanks guys for your help.  Truly appreciate it.
