Title: interlink disconnect - connected
Post by: confusedfisherman on March 25, 2012, 08:38:59 PM
i am having problems with the interlink staying connected to my front 787c2i from the console 798cisi
i keep getting a pop up saying disconnected, then 1 second late its connected - it will do this all day long. connections are snug. i have both units with the latest updates. any clues?

Try going through the InterLink reset instructions here:

Was this working before?  When did it start doing this?
Are there any other issues with the units..

well, i just recently added it, so this was my first time out with it, that is about the only issue i have with the unit.

Try the reset option as Greg mentioned.
It should work right out of the box..
Unless the interlink/software has problems..
Sounds like the unit is ok though..

ok, maybe i am doing it incorrectly, i tried to repair as stated above but every time i try and connect the interlink it keeps popping up that interlink connection failed.

then its stars again interlink connected  and then is disconnected  again.  could it be there is a cable loose still? i have to boat in my driveway so it is not bouncing around.   any thought?

Is it possible that it's getting interference from something else on the boat?

Maybe re-check the wire routing.  Not sure if GPS could cause it, but I would try
and route the power wires away from GPS and VHF (if you have it).

nothing else on boat. no exterior gps, radio or anything.
