Title: Navionics Card in Simulator mode ??
Post by: Ggw2000 on March 22, 2012, 02:25:33 PM
I just purchased a 798ci HD SI that is going to be put on new boat in a few weeks. I powered up the
unit in simulator mode just to make sure it turns on and to play with things.
I ordered a Navionics hotmaps premium east card and see that it was delivered today :). Can I access
the card after inserting it in unit when using simulator mode? If so does it matter if i'm inside the house
or not as there would be no GPS inside house and I don't think the GPS is even active in simulator mode?
Thanks, Gerry

I'm using a NV premium east and the chart works in simulator mode.
You just have to cursor to the location you want to look at,there's a setting to save your last looked at location so when you turn the unit on again it will go back to the same location...

Forgot to mention if you do not have a transducer hooked up you need to manually go to simulator in the start menu if you want to save any settings and have the unit remember them.
Without a transducer hooked the unit will go to simulator as the default startup and in this mode the unit will not save any settings.
