Title: 898 New Update

HB website now appears to have the correct 6.180 update available for the 898.

Is it called 6.180 or does it have the long name.  If long name what is it..

Hi Chuck
On the. HB website it is 898
The file is ae8b76db661e45...420e2c92b.bin.download and is 27.6mb
That is a different file number to the original
Downloaded on the second of March

OK thanks.  One thing that makes it hard for me to do is get releases as I dont own all of the HB devices..
I really want to get a good library here and one that also describes the releases.

If you used the update that was posted for the 898 originally you have to revert your unit back to 5.7 before this new "file" name will take since it is also called 6.180 when installed.

(The original file uploaded to the 898 folder was actually a 6.180 update for the 1197 not the 898, or so I was told.)

Been there done that...  More on this subject on the post I have going in the 898 area about this subject.

I got an email yesterday morning 3-16 at 9:17 am from humminbird telling me there was a new software release out with what all the update did. I went to site and under 898 I downloaded the bin file and it is now ae8b76db661e45d58134e3a420e2c92b. As stated earlier this is not the same as i downloaded 3-2 for the 898.  Has anyone loaded this one on the 898 and verified that it is correct? I just started my week long fishing vacation and don't want to goof up my unit on the first day of it. Thanks in advance!!

moment on your HB. Unit and is it working ok

5.7and it is working fine. I am really only interested in the screen width portion of the update. I have had a 797 since they came out with them and have been very pleased with it, just getting a little older and blinder.

I would  leave things the way they are until your week of fishing is done then you should know if the new update has Any problems or not. Tight lines and happy fishing
