I have installed the new software in my 998c SI. It does not look like the new software is working with my quad beam I has on my trolling motor. I use a switch to change from the SI trans to the quad beam and with old software 5.75 it worked find. I see no echos or anything when I switch it now. I have not been able to take it out on the water yet but has always had something on the display while in my garage.
Does anyone know if this should work with the new 6.180 or I'm I doing something wrong.

Just a guess-- wonder if restore defaults changed your transducer selection to something other than quad beam/ SI choice you had before the update.

I cant seem to find the download file for the new 6.1 update for the 997c, can anybody direct me to the link? Or does the update for the 1198/1197 work the same for the 997/998?
Thanks

there is no update yet for the 997, only the xx8 series.

Check your menu settings as newkid4si suggested, than test on the water. Testing in air can have varying results, so I would not be concerned until I tested it on the water.

The 1197/1198 does not work on the 997/998. You have to have the correct .BIN file specifically for the unit......

Thanks Everyone.
I may have mislead you a little, I was only using the dual beam in the Quad Trans.
I made sure I had Transducer set to "Hi-Def Sidescan" this is where it worked before the up grade to 6.180.
To use the Quad-beam you have to change it in the unit then switch to trolling motor Trans.
I increased the sensitivity why up to 18 and now I see something in both SI Trans in 2D and Trolling Motor Quad. I will take it to the water and test, probably jumping a little quick because of the upgrade "Really Like The New Software"

Thanks Chuck, do the updates for all the units usually come out around the same time?

Yes and no. It really depends on whether it is a unit currently in production, which operating system the unit(s) are running, how extensive the updates are and what capabilities (mpu speed, memorty,…) the unit has. The 997 units are no longer in production. They are using a different operating system than the current Si units use. The changes are extensive and the 997 does not have the processor speed or memory of the newer units, so it could be a while before a new software update for the 997 happens – if it happens at all. For all I know the 997 may be at its limit of being able to accept any new changes.

I think we can add the 997 to the old box of stuff as with the 1197. However if it still works stay with that..
Unless there is some startling announcement of new code new unit that you just must have.. ::)
