I've updated my 1198 to v6.180. No issues there. However, the unit no longer tries to import my nav data from the SD card.
I've created some groups using HBPC 4.2 and moved waypoints to them, organizing them by lake. I export them out to the SD card and verify that they are on the SD card by importing the SD card info back in to HBPC (also verified they are there using windows file explorer) so I know they are there.
I then deleted all nav data from my 1198. Power it off. Insert the SD card with the nav organized nav data created using HBPC but the unit never goes through the process of importing the data. When I open up the waypoint management on the 1198 there is nothing there.
Is anyone else seeing this?
I also noticed that you can no longer hide your course projection line. Not a huge issue but I don't like that thing and could hide it in 5.7 but can't any longer. What's up with that?

Yes. I have the same problem. I used the new Humminbird PC software and uploaded my latest navigation data to a SD card that had no other information on it. Nothing loaded when I turned on my 998c SI with the SD card in the right slot. Then I took another SD card that had my waypoints on it that was uploaded with Humminbird PC, version 4.1.8. Still nothing loads. >:(

Tried something different. I turned on my unit and when it was done going thru the power up process, I put in the SD card. A popup window came up asking if I wanted to upload navigation data from a SD card. Used the right arrow key to select Yes.
Checked the map and the waypoints were there. Some with there name on them and others with no name associated with the waypoint. The name would show up if you put the cursor over the WP and zoomed in close enough.
Will have to do some more checking to see how this Waypoint Management System is supposed to work.

Found out that I had Waypoint Decluttering turned on. Learn something new every time I try something.

Good job Albe I think also think HB moved some settings to different locations. Gary

Albe great findings and work.
Question? what is or does waypoint decluttering supposed to do. Either for operation or what might its relationship be during a waypoint transfer process?

Excellent troubleshooting there albe. Did what you suggested and the waypoints loaded. That is definitely different behavior than before. No matter, I'm just glad it worked. I was going to be seriously peeved if all that work grouping my way points was for not :P
Thanks again!

Waypoint Decluttering is described on page 118 of my 998 manual. When waypoints are close together, it changes some of the waypoints to small blue icons and hides the name of the WP. Go to the NAV menu and go down to Waypoint Decluttering and try it. Then you will see how it works.

I think that the small blue icons are still too large, I wish that Hb would allow us to choose smaller icons and to remove the icon identity.

Thanks Albe. I should have checked the manual 1st. I downloaded it and just did not think to reference same.

Another problem I have is that I can no longer load any DrDepth maps into my unit like I could with the older version 5.700.

I just installed 6.180 on my 998c SI and had the same problem. HB has my waypoints and is trying to duplicate it.
