Post by: Double Digit on March 02, 2012, 12:22:28 PM: I just checked my HB account...The new update for the 998 is out so I will update my unit this weekend.Its gonna be awsome to finally be able to use all 8" of my screen... ;D

I hope 898 and 998 users don't need to see their boat speed when the readouts are turned off...

The youtube video only shows water temp and depth.....

If this is true...slow trollers are going to feel left out with this update/upgrade...

Certainly it would be nice to have the speed there, too, but I recognize that the guys who developed the software have really put a lot of effort into making the upgrades that are there. Thanks to all. If I am using the SI and need to know my speed, I'll just check that and the scroll settings before turning off everything. Actually, in my case, I have another unit in operation that will show my speed and location, but I know everyone does not.

Have you logged into your Humminbird account?

Then under available downloads click on the unit to be updated, download screen should come up, click download on the bottom of this screen. This how I downloaded the new update for my 1197.

If this does not show up you may want to call HB.
