Hi All
I see that 998 has quadrobeam skill but when i look at the XBTH 9 QB 90 T Bronze Thru Hull Transducer from the official site of humminbird, 998 doesnt write on the "For Use with" list. Which you can see at this link;
http://store.humminbird.com/products/313979/XBTH_9_QB_90_T (http://store.humminbird.com/products/313979/XBTH_9_QB_90_T)
I would like to ask a couple of question about this;
1- Arent we able to use this product on 998 csi?
2- This pruduct has 2 variant, one of them is Bronze Thru Hull Transducer, and the other one is Transom Mount Transducer which is XNT 9 QB 90 T. Do these products has the same power or one of them has better than other ?
3- We will use these product to scan after 150 feet depth, when the side imaging cant scan!i know the 200 and 83 kHz can scan after 150 feet but there is no any information about 455 kHz! will it able scan after depth? We will use it among 150 and 300 feet depth
Thank you for your helps

ksc,
1 Yes, all of the versions of the QuadraBeam transducer are usable with the 998 units. Usually we do not list a unit as being compatible with a transducer if it does not allow all of the sonar functions of the original transducer to operate. Since the QuadraBeam transducer does not have Si sonar nor the 800kHz capability, it is not listed.
2 Both transducers have the same internal components and will work the same. The only difference is in how they mount to the boat, what they are made of, and what installation hardware and installation instructions are shipped out with them.
3 I believe that the limit to the 455kHz Side Beams for the QuadraBeam transducer is 150 feet as well. In the right conditions it may work past that depth but than so might the Si beams of the HDSi transducer no guarantees though.

Thanks Greg!
So i think there is only one sensible option left to us which is XTH 9 DB 35 KW T Bronze Thru Hull Transducer that can help us in deep waters! We heard it is scaning fast and have better response than the standart SI transducer! is that right ? can we see some fast fish that we other transducers cant see?

The XTH-9-DB-35-KWT transducer is a 200/50kHz conventional (2D sonar) sonar transducer only. It will allow the unit to work to a deeper water depth mainly due to the lower frequency that it uses. It is not a Side Imaging transducer.

yes I know but 50 khz will provide us a wider area that the 83 kHz i think. I wonder the cons of this product just because it is 1 KW. Some people told me that I need this product to see some very fast fish that i can see the standart transducers! is that right ?

Actually I think that the 50kHz beam is narrower than the 83kHz beam but I am checking on that.
I dont know about it being able to show very fast fish but if you are wanting to compare the 50kHz versus the 83kHz I can tell you that it would take a physically larger fish to be shown in the 50Khz versus 83kHz frequency due to the way that sonar works.
