Title: Simulator mode and saving menu changes
Post by: depark1 on February 23, 2012, 01:10:42 AM
I just fired up me new 998CX SI and think it's awesome.  This is the first unit I have ever purchased and I am really impressed with it.  I have 2 transducers for it and the Y cable for installing it on my pontoon boat.  Anyway here is my question.  When I was playing with it I changed a bunch of the settings in the menus.  Is the unit suppose to remember them when it's in simulator mode and you restart it?  It resets every time for me.   I would think that it wouldn't but thought that I would ask.  Would it make any difference with a SD card or Navionics card installed?  I have nothing plugged into it except the power cable.  I can only play with it now because it's too dam cold here in Canada.  ;D

Hi & Welcome to the forum depark1
Here is a quote from One of the top guys on this forum. This is called  "forced simulator mode" and has to be done to maintain changes made to the menus

Actually it is the MENU button and you have to press it while the unit is still showing the title screen (“Humminbird 998c Si”).  Than you will get the menu options to choose "Simulator" from that screen.

Thank you very much.  That worked perfectly.
