Title: Not enough Space for Track Exception Error
Post by: bayouxpress on January 21, 2012, 09:50:47 PM
the last thing I'm trying to convert is my google Paths.  I've tried with GpsBabel and KML2GPX the both open fine in HB PC but when I go to move it to my SD card I get this error.

Upload data error.

Bayouexpress need more info. What unit? How long have you had it? Was it used?Without a lot to go on I will give you a couple of things that might cause issues. Card you are trying to export all nav. data to is not or doe's not satisfy the HB unit. I use a Sand disk 2 gig formatted card to do this. Secondly it might be trying to upload all the tracks from day one since the unit was new. What I would try is deleting all your tracks everyday or weekly. Saving or deleting what your not going to use.Same thing with waypoints you can easily slow your unit down with all that data that you are probably not going to use. These units are just like your PC at home you must keep them updated and cleaned out daily or at least weekly for top performance.Hope this helped

New 798 updated to latest release. Sd card is good i uploaded a couple local waypoints. These are paths i created in google earth to mark humps, ridges, and points i may fish. I converted it to a gpx file with gpsbabel and also tried kml2xml. I can open the file in HB pc but get this error when i try to transfer to card. I can transfer my other files to unit using same process

Sorry to revive an old post but I don't see any fix for this and I've run into the same problem.  I've created a bunch of paths in Google Earth.  Exported them to .kml then converted the .kml to .gpx.  I then opened the GPX in HumminbirdPC and all the tracks are visible and seem to otherwise be fine.  This error appears when I then try to upload the tracks from the GPX file to the SD card.

As best as I can tell this is due to the 50 track limit.  Basically HBPC will not let you upload more than 50 track to the SD card.
