Title: Scooner wreck (+1900)
Post by: DiveExplorer on December 19, 2011, 04:26:25 PM
Here is a side scan sonar image of an scooner which sank around 1900. It lies in upright position in 8 meters.

The first picture is taken with 455 Khz and the second one with 800 Khz.

Unit HB 997CSI, with towfish.

Sure Rüdiger

It is of course home built Towfish made of PVC material. I use only one HB extension. I´m not searching that deep as of now. Maybe some other time I will make more rugged towfish with longer cable, but this is good for me now.

The weight is in the front of the towfish and in the back. I have the wings pretty big to get good stabilizing and it is. If the weather is right and I have a good boat captain I can get pretty good scans.
