Title: Outstanding customer service from Humminbird!!!

I have been fighting to try and get my 997 to pull up my GPS and maps. This has been going on for 2 months. I tried everything under the sun. I replaced the Y cable,ran my power right to my battery,tried other updated after I bought the Humminbird PC cables. Been on the phone with Robert a million times.He has done so much to help me. So after I put a new Y cable on I got the unit to work.For 2 weeks I had no problem. Than all of a sudden I lost all my read outs and GPS. I bootstrapped it and started over but no luck.

So I called Humminbird and the customer service lady was great.She said I would need to send the unit and the puck in. The most it will cost is $265 even if I needed a new unit cause mine is out of warranty. So I said this is just my luck. I have a championship tournament next weekend and now my unit wont work. LOL She said put a note in the box and say that. So I mailed it out on Wednesday.Customer service called me on Friday and said they have received my unit and ask about when I needed it back. I said I have a big tournament next Saturday and I know it is a lot to ask but I hope to get it back by than.I have a lot saved on my unit just for this championship and I can't fish with out my Humminbird! LOL  If you can't get it back by than I understand.

 So she said let me hand this to my supervisor and let him know. Now this is on a Friday. Well Monday I get an email saying my unit was repaired and is shipped back to me.Well the next day on Tuesday my unit comes back with a new GPS puck!! I could not believe it! So I reinstall everything and so far it is working perfect!

Humminbird has really out did them selves for me. That is the best customer service I have ever had with anything. That I looked at my Credit Card and they only charged me $65! Humminbird ROCKS!!!!!!!!

A lot of us have experienced Humminbird's great service and their service will keep us coming back.   We have all heard of horror stories about other competitors.  From the beginning HB has been customer friendly.

Great to hear everything worked out for you.  Good luck on your trip.

Yea.
Humminbird is a very smart company.

They have discovered the absolute secret to a successful business.

If you want to keep customers coming back and buying your stuff,
and, if you want their friends to buy your stuff,
then treat them fairly if something goes wrong with the product.

The only thing I need to ask them about is that my unit came back with the 5.4 update the same way I had it when I shipped it and not come back with the 5.8?

Since you were in a hurry for the tournament, they probably
didn't go through all of their normal checks and upgrades.

Oh ok. Not that I mind.  I can always just do it my self.I just wondered if the was a problem updating it to 5.8. 5.4 works good for me anyway.
