Title: How slow can the boat's speed be set?
Post by: bigkahuna on October 26, 2011, 10:37:26 AM
Just how slow can the boat's speed be set and how accurately, 1 knot?  1/2 knot?  I'm not going to be able to use the GPS's heading and speed data so will have to set this manually on the sonar.

I would say no slower than 1 knot if you want di/si.  slower will still show depth.... not much detail..

My question is more related to what the sonar's settings will let me do.  Can I set a forward speed of 0.7 knots for instance?  Or does it only let me set it to speeds in increments of 1 knot?

I think it is 1 kt inc.  Gennerally you set the speed to that of the boat. For us usually around 2 to 3 kts..

That gives the best si/di display.
