So is the 5.840 update not for the 998 and 958? The 5.700 update did not have waypoint manager right? If not when will it come out for the 998 and 958?

Go to HB support register your units.Then go to my accounts your latest updates will be posted.If you have not got
HB PC and the new update go ahead an down load that now.You might want to download a 3rd party viewer I highly recommend  Hummviewer starting out. To answer your Questions  no to the 998 and 958 The new update for 998 is 5.700 an I believe that does have the new waypoint Management. You can click on it and see.Gary

No the waypoint management software is not out yet for the 958c and 998c Si units as the 5.700 software did not contain this.  Not sure when the 5.850 (or whatever version it ends up being) software with the waypoint management software will be released.

No problem Gary.  The reason why I posted was that initially it was communicated that the 5.700 software did have the waypoint management software in it when it did not.

I just got an email from Humminbird Select, telling me that there is recently released software for my 998 that has Waypoint Management feature. I went to my account and it still is V5.700. I haven't put this in the unit, a little leery of it. Does this have Waypoint Management now or not?

Yes it does.  Go to your account bring up the update click on discreption.  Gary

The upgrade (5.840) for my 788ci says Waypoint Management but the 998 upgrade is still 5.7 and says nothing about Waypoint Management. Only says:Description:

7/8/2011 12:00:00 AM - v5.700 - Adjusted the sonar code to improve shallow water performance under trolling motor noise conditions Adjusted the sensitivity for down imaging. Changed the default side imaging color palette to amber Fixed speed/temp and voltage data box when no transducer is connected Added a side imaging simulator

Maybe the last 998 upgrade had the waypoint management
or
Maybe HB hasn't released the newest 998 upgrade yet.

They don't release them all at once.

I bet the Humminbird Select auto email, just sees that there is an upgrade to a unit I have registered (788 and 998) and just sends the upgrade message. Doesn't discriminate as to unit? Maybe?

Received a message on oct 12 that there was a new update for my 998 including waypoint management. On my account the newest update is 5.700 Just reinstalled it but NO waypoint management.
Anybody know when it will be released ?
In Humminbird PC there is the possibility to make groups. Can I use these groups in my 998 with software 5.700?

(English is not my first language and I have troubles understandig.. ???)

Sorry but I have been on holiday with my family.

That message went out prematurely as the waypoint management software has not been released as yet for the 998 units.  Not sure when it will be but I had heard a rumor that it will have some other feature added to it when it is finally released.

No, without the waypoint management software installed in your unit the groups will not work.
