Post by: geno368 on September 19, 2011, 10:31:12 AM
I am a newbie to SI, but have been a Humminbird user for 40 years. I changed the color palette on side imaging on my 898c to green and red..what does the red signify?

Hi geno :)

The color has no technical meaning, but they can make the interpretation of an echo easier.

It just signifies an optional color pattern that Humminbird decided to give the users.
Green and Red are complimentary colors.
They are pleasing to the eye when used in that combination.

In the green red pallet the red signifies a hard bottom.  Most guys use it to find shell beds or rock piles.
