Hey everyone I have had my 998 Si for a little over a year and I have loved it! I currently am using it paired with two transom mount transducers (xhs 9 hdsi 180). Only thing I have had problems with is getting high speed bottom readings. This is expected with transom transducers. I have recently been debating using a AS SI DB Y paired with a shoot thru for the 2d at high speed. My question is basically which shoot thru would you suggest? I fish saltwater out to about 150ft. I was looking for forum post reguarding shoot thru transducers and saltwater results and couldnt really find anything. Anyone out there use it?

Goingbig; SI does not work as a shoot thru hull (in hull)install.
You may try a thru hull with a HB XTH 9 DB 35 KW T or a XPTH 9 HDSI 180 T, big hole in the bottom being a thru hull.
If the boat hull is single layer (not multilayer) a in hull may work but may have diminished returns in 2d. SI will not work!!!!
Hope this helps a little. Roddy
