Title: 911 dispatch procedure for sinking watercraft
Post by: sonar2000 on August 11, 2011, 03:26:16 PM
Sinking watercraft is not defined in EMD procedures and most 911 centers I have talked to do not have an interrogation procedure to address a sinking craft.
It mainly consists of "we wiil get help on the way"..
So I am wondering if any folks here in SAR have worked with their 911 center to develop a process of information gathering and instructions to the caller.
If you have such or know of same post a reply here and we can get together off-line and discuss.
And if we come up with a good set of plans we can post the results here..

After some emails and phone calls we may need to consider coastal from inland.
There are difference in what is available between the two environments and to some extent how folks "call for help"..
