Just playing around with the Navionics pc app with the platinum east card. How can I get the waypoints created on pc to the unit? I have exported to a sd card but the 898 doesnt seem to reconize the format.
-
I don’t have this program. What file format options do you have when coping or exporting the waypoint data?
-
The file will export as a HWR but the unit does not display the waypoints.
-
When you copied the *.hwr file to the SD memory card, did you place it in the MATRIX folder that should also be on the SD memory card? This is where the unit will look for the *.hwr file at.
-
The only folder on the card is Record and Snapshot. Should it be in one of those?
-
Look in the record folder. or when you open the card use the all files selection.. chuck
-
No Matrix folder to be found.
-
Install the SD card into your unit and power it up. Go to the Nav menu tab and scroll down to Export All Nav Data and use the Right Arrow key to use this function. Take the SD card out and install in your computer. Navigate the SD card and delete the DAT.HWR file that is in the Matrix folder, than copy the *hwr file that you made with the Navionics program to the Matrix folder. Power your unit back up and install the memory card in it and see if it will upload the waypoints now.

Thanks I will give that a try.

Greg, that worked! Thanks

Hi, If I Export Kmz under Routes the Humminbird 788cx will not pick this route up on my SD card?
Why not I wonder?
Please help to get this working.
Thanks.

You will have to export as a hWr file and put it into the DATA file
-
The Humminbird units will not recognize the kmz file format. You will need to either save it as a DATA.hwr file or as a *.gpx file format. If those are not options than see if you can use another program to convert to either of these file formats.
