Title: Just switching to the 997 SI and need some help setting up the standard sonar
Post by: swm on August 08, 2009, 10:24:24 PM
I'm just switching from a Lawrence LMS 527 to the 997 SI and I spent the last 2 weeks on Georgian Bay fishing and playing with different settings on my new unit. The Side Imaging is amazing I could have spent all day driving around looking at the unique images of the underwater rock structure.
However I still use my LMS 527 on the bow connected to my Minn kota universal sonar  and I feel that I get way better standard sonar images on it then I do on my 997. The structure definition is better much better at all depths then on my 997. Has anyone else who switched had this issue and how did you setup your 997 to get better images. Any help would be great.

If you want coparable images on the 997 unit you will need to make sure that you are running the 4.510 software or later, than set the TVG menu (under the Sonar menu tab) to “Off”.
