I mounted my 570DI on the bow. Now I'm wondering since the beam is a narrow, not circular, How does the rapid movement of a trolling motor turning effect the image? I just figured I'll be fishing from the front so I put the best sonar on the bow I could afford. I have a HB141 on the dash.
I'm new to the DI scene, did I mess up by putting it on the bow?

No you did not mess up. but remember that sonar is a directional beam. Turning the trolling motor will redirect the beam and not give a good display as with a straight line.
But remember this on DI, you are looking directly under the transducer so your immediate picture is true. If you are recording and playing back then the bottom might not be as depicted..
Especially if using an external viewer.
