Title: Anyone else heard this? 2012 units?
Post by: edwardpic on August 04, 2011, 09:10:31 PM: As someone mentioned in 2012 Humminbird will be adding Radar and NMEA 2000 compatibility. This capability applies to the following units (1198 SI, 1158,998 SI,958, 958 DI, 898 SI, 858, 858 DI). If you have one of these units you will only need to buy the necessary hardware when available and then download the free software upgrade.

Just saw this posted in the HT forum......Greg any idea?

It does seem that announcements and the availibility somewhat lag but that just makes us more hungry for the product... :P

I seem to recall a last year announcement on ethernet...Maybe I am confused (again)

LOL...I got off that thread that guy is a lost cause....Anyway...I havent been online to check this since I posted....I must have been confused when I first watched the video Greg put up here, I thought or thought I heard that the new Radar-NEMA additions were just for the DI models....I mainly was asking if when they release the new 2012 models will we have to buy new units or like I saw posted (was in another forum) that we will be able to upgrade software n such to have these new features.....
