Title: split screen readings
Post by: T.G on July 27, 2011, 12:07:01 AM
hi all, this maybe a stupid question but in the split screen mode with 2d /down scan, does the image start again on the 2nd screen or is it still scrolling across from the 1st half of the screen?

I think the images are independent of one another.
Each type of image stays in the same position on the screen.

In other words, the 2d part acts just like 2d if it was only on one screen but it takes up the left half of the screen.  It will stay at the left half of the screen until you change the view.   As far as scrolling, newer information is always at the right and older information gets scrolled to the left.

I hope this helps.

ITG is right .....the two screen are seperate displays.  so boths screens are concurrent displays...

They will show different stuff and the same stuff differently.  This is due to the different shape and size of the sonar beams.

DI and 2d are two different display types. You will see things differently and in some cases not the same thing. but the sonar beam is under the transducer so it is scanning in and for the most part the same area...
