Updated software to 5.7 and now receive message when powering up that there is no transducer installed. Any ideas. Everything worked fine before update.
-
Did you reset to Defaults before & after the update?
-
yes i did. Message states "Transducer not connected"
-
I feel for ya...This is why i just cant get myself to do an update.Ill wait till winter when the Long Island Sound is frozen...
-
i almost followed that philosophy but the curiosity killed the cat that ate the humminbird
-
if i update and the unit quits working, will hummingbird fix it for free cause it is there software update that crashed it.
-
I would double-check the transducer connection at the back of the unit.
Look at the pins and make sure everything is snug when plugged in.
Also,
Under the menu, make sure that you have selected the correct transducer for your unit.
-
You could follow that up by connecting it to another Humminbird transducer that has the built-in temperature sensor. If the unit does not detect the built-in temperature sensor than it will default to the Point Of Sale Simulator mode and display the “Transducer Not Connected” message.
If the current software does something that you do not want, you can load an older version of software back into the unit.

Greg when i log on my HB account the only software download listed is the 5.7. I have looked and cannot find where to download a prev version. Can you direct me to the right page.
-
The old software is not available on the Humminbird web site. This web site has a Downloads section where Robert has been keeping older software versions. I just checked though and the 5.500 software for the 898c Si is not on the web site. Send me a direct e-mail and I can send you a link to download it though. Since your location shows as Eufaula, AL. you could just come by the plant and I could copy the software to an SD memory card for you (if you bring one).
