Gary
-
Just downloaded it but it wont read my GPX files
-
Just downloaded mine and now I can't even pull up my Humminbird P C.....huummm...HELP!!!!
-
Did you guys uninstall the previous version of HumminbirdPC before installing the 4.4.1 version?
Pig75,
Where was this *.gpx file from: your Humminbird unit (which model), one you made using only an older version of HumminbirdPC or one you made by importing data from another brand unit or program?
-
Yes removed previous version.
It's a 798cxi
The unit file and a older humminbirdPC version all the same error message
-
Same message here Greg. All my GPX files created on the same 898c and created with Humminbird PC 3.2.2.
However I was able to create a new gpx readable file when I imported from yesterday's trip.
What's up
-
Same problem here with same error message I cannot pull up any of my previous .gpx files
-
Hey Greg I never uninstalled the old HB PC my new update to 4.1 works
fine do you care to elaborate on that. Gary
-
I just installed 4.1 and everything works fine except for a bug that shows the names of all the waypoints twice in Google Earth. This only happens if I click on the .gpx file itself. If I click on waypoints (the next level down), the names are only displayed once.
The Groups feature is going to change the way that I live. THANK YOU! With over 300 Gulf of Mexico waypoints saved up over 30+ years, scrolling down the entire list was a pain.
For you guys having problems with the update, remember that it's an update not full program. If you uninstall the older program, 4.1 will not install. Also, you need to be running the latest version of Java (update 26) in order for 4.1 to operate properly.
-
My anti virus software ,"AVG" picked up a suspected virus in a CAD file 5mb in size whilst installing the update. The AVG put it in the virus vault and no more problems with the 4.1 version. it seems to be working fine now. I did install it as an update and did not remove the old edition first.

Greg , Chuck or Robert the new HB PC 4.1 update downloads ok but the problem is it don't work
won't let you do anything with waypoints etc. Sorry Gary
-
Everything worked smoothly in 4.1 until I tried to upload files to an SD card.
I get the error message:
Upload Data Error.
Null
Card was freshly formated.
-
How about HB control center would appreciate some kind of response about 4.1.1 HB PC update
Thanks Gary

Sorry guys but was busy the last two days at home and did not have time to look at this web site. Could not stay on today... kept locking up and kicking me out.
The 4.1.1 HumminbirdPC is a full program so you should uninstall the previous version.
You need to make sure that you are running the latest version of Java as well as having your Windows updated.
For those who get the Upload Data Error - Null messag when you try and upload your waypoints to the SD memroy card: this is a bug in the program but you can get around this by having an *.hwr file on the SD memory card already. Download the waypoints from your unit via the SD memory card as you normally would but do not erase or format the SD memory card. Just select to "Replace" the file whenever you upload your waypoints back to the SD memory card.
Just be aware that while you can set different groups in the HumminbirdPC program; they will not be recognized by your unit until the Waypoint Management software is (finally) ready - which will be... [had you going there didn't I?] I don't know when. ;D
-
Greg it will be soon. Thanks Gary

You seem to need more than just a *.hwr file on the SC card. Copying an existing .hwr to the card from the computer doesn't work. Neither does putting it into a Matrix folder and including a Profile file. It seems like you have to actually download navigation data from a unit in order for the update to replace the information.
I can't do this with my Matrix 97 since it doesn't have a data export function. I have to go to the marina to access the 997 on my bigger boat. What a PITA!
Is the older version of Humminbird PC still available for downloading somewhere? I only see much older versions available on this site.
-
Doc,
What software version are you running in your Matrix 97 unit? I don’t have one to check this with but there should be an Export Nav Data menu in it. Make sure that you are running in the Advanced User Mode menu setting.
Yes it is a PITA but most users will be using the same SD card that they used to export their Nav data from their units with. The file structure needed is there and in place so it works for them.
The older versions of HumminbirdPC are available on this web site (I don’t know of anywhere else). Look in the Downloads section.

I needed to use the advanced setting in order to delete the waypoints. :P
Humminbird help pointed that out to me yesterday.
My upgrade to the latest software had restored the default settings and I forget to set them back.
I saved nav data to a couple of empty SD cards so I should be good to go with 4.1.

my hb defaulted to east instead of west in the create waypoint screen. everything works fine. i appologize for harsh words earlier. thanks for your help.
