i have a raymarine hydraulic auto pilot, when i switch the autopilot on to nav i get noise when the motor works on standby nothing. i have tried rc filter ferrite filters i still get it even when i use a separate battery supply the pump is 15 feet from transducer which is a through hull

after trying a seperate battery ferrite filters rc filters £150 tryed 2 foot pice of baking foil around the tranducer cable where their was slack in the cable and end of noise! have not tried at sea yet but great in harbour with no noise filter off

still noisy at sea, put stainlees steel braid over the whole length of the transducer cable and bonded it to the the ground plate same problem lines any help?

When you say tried seperate battery, that means no common ground wires and not going thru any common fuse buss or anything, correct! Just the Humminbird hooked straight to a battery with nothing else hooked to it?
Do the wires to the transducer or the unit cross or run together with wires to the motor anywhere?

yes the wires went straight from humminbird to a separate battery 3 feet from unit, their was a loop in the excess transducer cable which i wrapped the tin foil around which seemed to cure it, bit not at sea and since upgrading firware it happens in the harbor, but that may not connected. I see from the forum that switching the nema off has an effect so i am going to disconnect the aerial to the gps and every ting not needed.
also i run the chart speed at 10 all the time as i want the highest detail could that be why i am getting pixels and blurred some times.

I woud recommend keeping the chart speed around 5 when scanning. It is best to keep it close to the speed you are scanning which is usually 3-6 mph.

i removed the bonding from the screed transducer cable to the earth through hull plate and it has stooped the noise in the harbour, it must have been radiating in the water as well as introducing noise via rf into the transducer. next sea trials. do you reduce chart speed when using 800kh more that 445kh 2-5? as i have never been able to get any results on 800kh also do you have to reduce speed of boat?

When scanning (SI) it is best to run at 3 mph. While the transducer is capable of higher speed, we see many problems at speed above a normal trolling speed.....
You can try your setup and find what works best for you...
It seems the best display is when the chart speed and the boat speed are within 1 of each other...
Have not noticed any difference in 455 to 800 and a chart speed relationship..
