I've had my 898si for almost a year now and it's worked flawlessly in rough water the entire time, until recently. It's been cutting out on big waves or any kind of jolt to the boat.
After it cuts out, it will fire back up and work just fine until the next big jolt. I've checked the wires and all connections are sound.
I'm a new poster to this forum and I understand if no-one wants to offer any suggestions. I can offer a bunch of Central Illinois help in return; I just want to know whats wrong with my unit and get it to work like it did before.
Thanks.

The power connections on the HB units are kinds cheap. I dont think they are made very secure and can become loose over time. I had this happen once during a big storm here in Florida, but only once. I would love to see better water tight connections in the future like Amphenol connections but thats a dream. Definately check the pins on the power side of the connector, there has been issues mentioned by others on this forum.

HI jim i had the same problem with mine and tried everything, kept doing the same thing. You will probably have to send the unit in for repair. I tested mine out yesterday out on the ocean with no problems. Hope this helps. ;D
