I'm about to purchased a trolling motor quadrabeam transducer for last year's 788 ci hd that have on the bow. I have talked with one individual who has somehow modified his 788 unit and is using a SI transducer. He indicated that he was getting better results from the si transducer than the quadrabeam. Has anyone attached the 788 ci hd to si transducer? What has been your experience?

Since no one has posted, I guess no one has any info. I'm going ahead and ordering the QB transducer.

RZB; What Xducer are you going to use? Roddy

Roddy,
Sorry for the delay in answering, I was out of town and did not have computer access. I'm going to order the bow Qbeam (XTM 9 QB 90 T) that fits the 788 ci. I found one on the internet for around $65. After reading HB ethernet manual which indicates that I can share tranducers, I do not know why my si transducer which has the 200/83/455 frequencies would not work. Any thoughts?

RZB,
What unit are you trying to share the sonar data with? You share sonar data over the Ethernet and not the actual transducer. Both units have to have that level of sonar capability for the sonar information to be shared. So without knowing what the other unit is, I don’t know what can or cannot be shared other than the fact that Si sonar and the single element DI sonar cannot be shared as the 788ci HD does not have that capability.

Greg... You answered my question in my post on the general discussion forum. I will get the Qbeam for my 788 ci hd bow unit. I have a 898 si on the console. Thanks for your response here. I will not attempt ethernet unless I have interlink problem. So far, the interlink has worked fine.... ;D

RZB, thanks for the thread. I've been searching for the same solution, but guess I'll go to the QB 90 T. Where have you located one for $65? Good fishing.
