Running the 1198 and 998 on a ethernet cable but the 998 will not see the network.
Both units are running 5.410 ver software.
Is there a newer version for the 998??

Yes there is a newer version. Register your units at HB and it will make You available the latest software downloads per unit

I had connection problems as well, I updated both my units to the latest update and the Ethernet now works fine.

Anyway someone can upload the latest update for the 998 to this forum? My unit was a swap out from Humminbird and I am having problems registering it on the web site.

Are you having problem with the registering as a swap out. Which prevents you from downloading..
If so then call HB support and ask for a manager....Explain the swap out and ask for registration clearing..

Yes, the unit was swapped out and when I try to register it on my support page it doesn't recognize the serial number.
I will try Humminbird support tomorrow but was looking for the update today so I can get my units working.

If this 998c Si unit was swapped out for an existing 998 unit than you can just use the software update download for the previous 998 unit. They will be the same but the Humminbird web site will show the serial number for the previous 998 unit is all.
If you want to have the current 998 unit registered you should be able to call the Humminbird Customer Resource folks and get this sorted out. It should not take talking with a Manager to get this corrected.
I tried adding software to this site several weeks back and could not do so due to the file size. This is something that Robert will have to do for the larger units as they have larger sized software update files. You can direct e-mail me for them though and I will work out how to get them to you.

I called Humminbird and they are putting my serial num in the system so I can register it. I should be able to download the update later today.
The unit was swapped out from a 997.

Humminbird put my serial number in the system so I was able to register and then download the latest version.
Now the Ethernet system is working perfectly.
