I want to add another, cheaper transducer to my boat, which isnt able to run SI but still covers a great area of water. I actually thought about a DualBeam PLUS or QuadBeam Xducer. Which one shall i choose, just to have a 2D picture and fish ID alarm for vertical fishing? With my XHS 9 HDSI 180 T transducer i've had verry nice experiences in vertical fishing (i clearly could see any fish, my bait etc) while using 2D View, which one will have the same 2D capacities ? I'm looking for the best price!

The DualBeam transducer will be cheaper because it has fewer components inside of it versus the QuadraBeam transducer. Either one will work as well as the 2D sonar in the XHS-9-HDSi-180-T transducer as they use the same transducer element for the 200/83kHz sonar.
For covering a wider area though you will want the QuadraBeam but it will cover areas that you won’t be vertically fishing.

So the correct one for having same 2D 200/83kHz results while vertical fishing on my 1197c SI would be the XNT 9 20 ?

Yes or the XNT-9-20-T model
If you are going to use a transducer switch than use the one wth the "T" on the end.

Not to hijack but I am working on similar project. Another user suggested the XNT 9-20T and the Y cable, BUT I believe he was talking about "slipping pins" so that both transducers could be used without a switch. Does this make sense?
The idea is to more centralize teh HDSI unit on my boat and use the dual beam for high speed etc.

The AS-Si-DB-Y cable and DualBeam transducer are used for a way of getting better high-speed sonar readings or for being able to install the Si transducer in a more protected area. By using the AS-Si-DB-Y cable the 2D sonar will always come from the DualBeam transducer. If you are using the AS-Si-DB-Y cable try and save a few dollars by purchasing the non “T” version DualBeam transducer, like the XNT-9-20

Just to put an update, i think i'm not going to install another transducer for 83/200khz. My 2D experience has been verry great so far, its unbelieveable good (i can clearly see my bait and fish while vertical fishing) but i am currently using the XHS 9 HDSI 180 T transducer, and i guess this transducer is the reason why 2d works that good for me. As i dont want to decrase the performance i'm actually thinking about a second XHS 9 HDSI 180 T transducer, but pricing in germany is just too expensive ($400 would be cheap), so i'm actually not sure if i'm going to change my setup.

The same internal elements inside of the XHS-9-HDSi-180-T transducer that are used for the 2D sonar are also used in the XNT-9-20 and XNT-9-20 transducers. So you should get the same performance with these as well.

I was incorrect on the pin thing. I have the T series 2D unit here and mounted as that is what was recomended to me. I took the HDSI unit and tucked up safely and more centrally located.
