What is the newest software version for the 898 that works?

5.5 and as far as does it work.....depends. Some units do....... some dont....... some work mostly and some have minor problems.
I would use the search tab at the top of the main menu of this forum and search 898 or 5.5 and read all the posts on these..

I have the latest 5.5 on my 898, just updated last Friday. No issues last weekend with the software so far. I upgraded only to get my 1198 and 898 networked together.
