Title: Sun Shield For The Humminbird 1197's and 1198 Units
Post by: calli1 on May 28, 2011, 11:25:50 AM: Does anyone know where I can find a sun shield or visor for my Humminbird 1198. I had a Raptor Cap for my 898 but it seems they do not make one for the 1197/1198 series :'( . Anyone have any suggestions ?

Their product was good. Just needed to update the product line...

Post by: edwardpic on June 01, 2011, 05:42:31 PM: I made a sunshade for my 1198 and 898 at my shop, I used .090 ABS, I have a heated ABS bender, used small 1/2" wide velcro to hold it onto the unit itself. I'll try and post pictures. I have drawn up a sheild in CAD to cut out an aluminum one on my CNC plasma but havent had the time yet, my shops slammed. I'll do a test cut n fit and see how it turns out.

Post by: edwardpic on June 01, 2011, 06:03:19 PM: True...I have all the toys at my shop, fun to make stuff thats not the same everyday in business....Ive cut a lot of parts for people out of Aluminum for their boats...Buddies bring me cardboard templates and say "can you draw this for me"...I'll be sure to post pics as soon as I can take some...Am I supposed to add them to the gallery only?
