How do save the user setting to the SD card and reinstall to unit?

You don’t.  There is no menu or function to do this. 
It has been suggested that it be added to the units but I do not know if or when it will happen.

Yes this would be a great function. Especially since we have to restore factory default to upgrade code.
Other manufacture units allow for the saving of user settings.  A big help in the upgrading effort.
Also not having to restore defaults would be helpful..
Time equals fishing...

Obviously the system does already record and save user settings... otherwise you'd have to reenter them each time you turned the unit on. All that's missing is the feature to download and upload them. It should be a pretty simple program change and one that's well worth the effort. I hope they will consider it soon.
