Can you take a track from the 957c and install it in the 898c si. This would be off a mem card and is a track not a route? Will it show the track?

Yesd a track could be a route.
One you leave a track it coujld become a route.
Generally we refer to tracks as the path where we have been and a route is a programmed path where we want to go...
On some units you can convert paths to routes..

Sure thwalk, you can make a track on one unit and send it to another unit via an SD memory card. Just take note that to do so you will have to perform an “Export All Nav Data” in your 957c to the memory card that is installed. This copies all of the Nav Data (waypoints, tracks and routes) that are in the 957c unit. If you only want to copy that one track than you will need to use that memory card in your computer along with the HumminbirdPC software and delete all of the other Nav Data (waypoints, other tracks and routes) that you do not want and upload that to the same memory card (replacing what is there) before loading the memory card in your 898c Si unit.
