Post by: LocDown on April 20, 2011, 07:29:44 PM
Can I use my XTM 9 20 T trolling motor transducer as a shoot through transducer?

The transducer may be expecting a wet environment. Shooting thru the hull may not let the ducer work as per specs..
Robert, Roddy, Rickard and others may have comments on this also.

Locdown:1. Thru hull will receive less return.
              2. Req hull potting putty.
              3. Req single layer hull(no layerd core Hulls).
              4. Req no air bubbles in potting putty.

The old school way of moutimg a thru hull xducer is to make a box on the hull and to fill it with vegetable oil and attach the xducer in this bath.

A tram mount for me anyday.  Enjoy Roddy

Robert; what say you!

I think I'm going to put the transducer back onto the trolling motor because I'm getting interference with it.
