can this be done already have 597, going to get 998 next week, need to know if they can be linked

Chris,

Unless something has changed, you will not be able to link the two units together and share waypoints via Interlink.  I believe only the 700 series and up are compatible with the Interlink module.

You are correct Robert.  Only the 700 series units and up can be linked in any way to another unit.
